Chocolate Bourbon Butter Pecan Milkshakes

INGREDIENTS:

  • 8 ounces of chocolate ice cream;

  • 8 ounces of butter pecan ice cream;

  • 1/2 cup of milk;

  • 1/4 cup (to taste) J.W. Kelly Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey;

  • 1/2 cup chocolate syrup, for garnish;

  • 4 tablespoons of pecan pieces, for garnish;

  • Whipped cream, for garnish.

PREPARATION:

  1. Combine the ice creams and milk in a blender and blend until just smooth.

  2. Add the bourbon and mix until well combined

  3. Pour the chocolate syrup into a shallow dish and dip the rim of your glasses into the syrup.

  4. Pour the milkshake into the glass, garnish with toasted pecans and whipped cream. Serve immediately.

ABR Kelly Sauce

This sauce comes to us courtesy of our friends at Always Be Recycling. They originally used this creative and tasty sauce on their corned beef, but it would also go well with pork, pork tenderloin, and chicken.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup of J.W. Kelly Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey;

  • 1/4 cup dijon mustard;

  • 2-3 tablespoons of honey;

  • 2-3 dashes of Worcestershire Sauce (to taste);

  • Black pepper to taste.

PREPARATION:

  1. Boil down whiskey to reduce by half.

  2. Take off heat.

  3. Mix in the rest of the ingredients.

  4. Put back on low heat to finish.

Cranberry Maple Bourbon Cocktail

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 ounces cranberry juice (not cocktail)

  • 1 ounce maple syrup

  • 2 ounces J.W. Kelly Single Barrel Bourbon

  • 1/2 to 3/4 ounce Grand Marnier

  • Orange slices for garnish

  • Sugared Cranberries Skewered for garnish (optional)

    • For the sugared cranberries:

      • 2 Cups sugar, divided

      • 12 oz fresh cranberries

PREPARATION (Cocktail):

  1. Add ice to a cocktail shaker, then add the cranberry juice, maple syrup, bourbon and Grand Marnier.

  2. Shake vigorously. Strain into a double old fashioned glass, over ice.

  3. Garnish with an orange slice and a skewer of sugared cranberries (optional)

PREPARATION (For the Cranberries):

Note: this is optional since it is garnish.

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat combine ½ cup of water and ½ cup of sugar, stirring until the sugar is dissolved, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in the cranberries until well coated. Let them sit in the syrup for 30 minutes.

  2. With a slotted spoon transfer to a parchment paper lined baking sheet and let them dry for at least 1 hour.

  3. Roll the cranberries in the remaining 1 ½ cup of sugar until well coated. Let them dry for about an hour.
